Au Sable Light Station:

This picturesque station is being renovated by the National Park Service. Strolling about the grounds on a stormy day, one can feel the sense of duty and history for which this complex is preserved. Access to the station is by a 1.5 mile trail beginning at the east end of the lower Hurricane River Campground. Check at visitor centers and park bulletin boards for interpretive programs scheduled at the light station.

The remains of several shipwrecks can be seen along the beach route to the lightstation and provide ample evidence of why this light station continues to be important and functional to this day.
